Data Explorer

Overview

The Data Explorer is a web-based user interface that provides a unified and user-friendly view of all available data resources on the IUDX-Novo platform.

It enables platform users to easily explore, understand, and evaluate data resources before initiating data access, integration, or downstream processing.

Key Capabilities

The Data Explorer offers the following core capabilities:

  • Unified resource discovery across all published datasets

  • Clear visibility into the type, structure, and nature of data associated with each resource

  • Access to detailed resource metadata, sourced from the Catalogue Server

  • Presentation of sample data for different resource types

These capabilities help users make informed decisions about whether a resource is suitable for their intended use case.

User Experience

Through the Data Explorer, users can:

  • Browse and search available resources

  • Inspect metadata attributes such as ownership, coverage, and access policies

  • View representative sample data without consuming the full dataset

This approach reduces integration friction and improves usability for both technical and non-technical users.

Role in the Platform

  • Acts as the primary discovery interface for human users

  • Integrates with the Discovery (D) interface and Catalogue Server

  • Supports informed consent and authorization workflows by enabling early resource evaluation
