Intelligent Universal Data Exchange (IUDX-Novo)
Data Exchange as a Service has been deployed extensively across the world. In India, several prominent deployments include:
Indian Urban Data Exchange (IUDX), deployed in 55 Indian Smart Cities
Agricultural Data Exchange, deployed in the State of Telangana
Geospatial Data Interface Exchange, deployed under the National Geospatial Mission
Building upon these foundational efforts, the concept of a comprehensive Data Exchange product has been developed. This product offers a set of out-of-the-box features intended to support rapid deployment and customization across a wide range of domains.
Referred to as the Intelligent Universal Data Exchange (IUDX-Novo), and distinct from the IUDX implementation used in smart cities, the platform is designed to enable secure, scalable, and interoperable data sharing across sectors.
IUDX-Novo aims to deliver an open, standards-compliant, and community-driven product that empowers governments, enterprises, and researchers to unlock the potential of their data assets while maintaining strong commitments to privacy, transparency, and trust.
Licensing Model
A dual-licensing approach is adopted to balance openness with adaptability:
Core Platform Services such as data exchange APIs, governance, consent management, monitoring, and automation are released under the AGPL-3.0 license. This promotes open collaboration and prevents proprietary forks of the foundational platform.
User-Facing Interfaces including visualization layers, deployment scripts, and automated installers, are provided under enterprise licenses to support operational flexibility and customization needs.
This model preserves the openness and integrity of the core data exchange infrastructure while enabling flexible deployment, white-labeling, and commercial extensions. It supports the creation of a sustainable and collaborative data ecosystem that advances innovation and public good.
